Aims

The aims of Middle Barton Pre-school are in line with those of all Pre-schools who belong to the Pre-school Learning Alliance. Our main aim is to enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age through encouraging parents and guardians to understand and provide for their children's needs by becoming members of the community Pre-school.

Staff

We are fortunate to have a long serving, very experienced and dedicated staff.

• Pre-school Supervisor: Mrs Linda Horwood-Smith
  After many years' involvement with Pre-school, Linda became supervisor in 1996.
  Quals: Pre-school Playgroups Association (PPA) Foundation, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education
  
• Pre-school Assistant: Mrs Gill Chisnall
  Gill has worked at Pre-school since 1997, after originally working as a Chartered Physiotherapist. Her own children have attended the Pre-school and she has served on the committee.
  Quals: Diploma in Pre-school Practice
  
• Pre-school Assistant & Deputy Supervisor: Mrs Karen McPhillips
  Karen became a Pre-school assistant in 1995 after working as an art teacher in secondary schools. She now has particular responsibility for preparing children for primary school.
  Qual: BA Hons Fine Art, Postgrad Cert in Education
  
• Pre-school Assistant: Mrs Emma Fraser
  Emma joined Pre-school in 2008. Her own children have attended Pre-school and she has a background in Montessori nurseries.
  Quals: BTech Nat Dip in Caring Services (Nursery Nursing)

All staff are qualified in First Aid.

Committee
The Pre-school is run by a committee of volunteers. We are always happy to welcome new members to the committee – speak to the staff for more information. The current committee is:
